The Water Industry Act 1991 : Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999
The Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations 1999 (refered to as "The Water Regulations") will replace the Water Byelaws
in governing the prevention of Waste, Misuse, Undue Consumption, and Contamination of Public Water Supplies, in domestic
and commercial plumbing installations.
The regulations have been introduced under the powers conferred in the Water Industry Act 1991, chiefly Section 74
, and cover England and Wales. The Water Inspectorate will retain the duty to enforce these Regulations.
