Précis

Wishing to work based at home on single projects like creating basic websites, updating websites, converting paper documents to digital form for websites, XML files, database input, or other media. I'm also pretty good at spreadsheets including VB macros or possibly database creation.
Maths graduate with over 25 years experience as an Analyst/Programmer. Everything from Sales support to installation. Plus 5 years employment as a web-site designer/developer. Plus about 8 years developing websites and other programming projects for my own education and entertainment.
XHTML, HTML, CSS, DHTML, JavaScript, graphics, Dreamweaver etc. Some PHP/MySQL, XML/XSL, Java, ASP, Perl, Director Lingo and WML. Also Cobol, EPLX, Unisys assemblers, and several other Unisys languages. Plus a bit of Unix, C, C++, XWindows, Oracle, Basic++ and Pascal.
I have hand coded around 2000 pages and done thousands of HTML modifications,. often used Dreamweaver, Ultradev, Paintshop, Photoshop etc. and coded to W3C, accessibility, cross-browser compatibility standards before most became defined.
I completed a contract at the end of 2002 as Website Designer at Keighley College. Between 1999 and 2000 I created websites of courses as part of the Adapt project, and have worked on the various Keighley Community Learning Club sites, the Keighley College websites and the Keighley Arts Factory.
I have a wide enough experience to easily learn new systems and languages and I am interested in working in Web site design and server or mainframe programming and in providing computer delivered courses. Please note my wide experience and recent courses.
From December 98 to April 99 I was on placement at the Department of European Studies, University of Bradford where I updated and brightened up their website and generally gained experience of HTML, Windows, PaintShop Pro, PhotoShop etc. etc..
I am currently studying part-time, keeping up-to-date, extending my knowledge and skills and occasionally providing assistance and training. Please see THNet at Portland for some examples of PHP/MySQL etc, I enjoy producing high quality work within budget. I am content to work initially as a junior or trainee whilst gaining experience. I am also happy to relocate.
